Milestone Birthdays

It's been almost two months now since my fiftieth birthday, and Jaime's twentieth. Somehow, it was a bit of a letdown because part of me always imagined a big celebrations with lots of family and friends, but it turned out to be a nice, simple, quiet weekend spent with Joy, Jaime and Javi in a beautiful small house by a lake on the border of Connecticut and Massachusetts, Lake Hamilton. Jaime brought along two of his friends to spend the weekend with us, and we had a lot of good grilled food, enjoyed the nice view of the lake, and swimming and kayaking around it. We watched all the World Cup semi-final games, and just had a good time catching up. Joy painted a lot, we talked a bit,we all just had a nice quiet time. Lots more reflections to share at a later date, but this for now will suffice.
